Share Your NO

We all have been told NO

This NO may have affected a promotion, a diverse supplier’s ability to participate in a RFP, getting a viable woman or minority candidate hired or the long-term sustainability of your Supplier Diversity or Diversity/Inclusion program.

The paradigm shift from NO to NEW Opportunity is designed as a community platform for each of us to share our story of NO and HOW we created a #NewOpportunity.

  1. I was watching a documentary on silicon valley and heard an investor say that there were no black owned companies seeking venture capital and that he knew of no blacks in the field. I nearly fell off my chair. That is when i decided to make a film to prove him wrong. Two years of interviews, camera failures, camera purchases, and 20 some interviewees later I merely scratched the surface but finished my documentary. The documentary was premiered at San Jose City College on September 30th, 2017. High schools and colleges are asking for a showing of the film for black history month in 2018. I plan on entering two local film festivals. The venture is not over so I will continue to pursue all avenues to inform young people of all colors and genders that there were others that came before you that now allows you to have a “place at the table” for you to realize your dreams and make your contribution to silicon valley.
